რეზიუმე

The present study helps to address this gap by conducting an in-depth interview study with 22 social service providers who serve YWLS in Tbilisi and Rustavi, two cities in Georgia. This research offers important insights into how providers conceptualize and respond to stigma directed towards YWLS, illustrating how public stigma intersects with cultural racism directed towards ethnic minority communities, pointing to how provider stigma may manifest as institutional stigma. Such findings are made more significant given the relative dearth of research examining provider stigma towards YWLS in Georgia, a group that has grown considerably in the past decade and is a major focus of governmental programs and social services. Study findings point to the need for additional research with both providers and young people, both to support providers to manage the public stigma they experience, and to ensure that providers do not enact stigma and discrimination towards YWLS, particularly towards youth from ethnic minority communities.
