Abstract
This article concerns contrastive typology of the French and Georgian criminal terminology. Normally, legal terms do not undergo semantic change; they have a fixed precise meaning; yet the polysemy and ambiguity of some terms sometimes cause the problems with regard to their understanding. The French and Georgian legal systems are not identical. In the article we will try to define the composition of legal terminology in the French and Georgian languages and compare them. We will also try to highlight the influence of French legal terminology on Georgian legal terms, to examine the differences between the legal concepts of both languages and identify differences and similarities between the legal terms of French and Georgian languages. The article includes the legal texts of different national and international organizations, which we have worked on within the frames of our contract.
