Abstract
Usually polarization is measured as ratio of the a. c. voltago to the d. c. voltage at plate load of the photomultiplier. To prevent the appearance of the plate current rapid fluctuations many authors recommend to connect the condenser across the plate load resistance. When frequency of modulation of tho light beam is made low enough and RC is also low errors of the ratio of the a. c. voltage to the d. c. voltage are often neglected. Nevertheless these errors may become of importance even at very low RC and frequency. For example use f=0,966 cps and RC = 0,12 sec (100,0 mQ and 1200 pF) distorts tho ratio at 1,24 times. July, 1959
