Abstract

Some main parameters of the motions of stars arc determined on the base of the expression of potential suggested by G. Kusmin (1). The results obtained are compared with those of the paper [I]. By the solution of differential equations of motions the expressions (15) and (18) are obtained where Ro is the distance from the centre of the Galaxy to the initial position of a star. R1 and R2—the apogalactic and perigalactic distances of a star. The velocities of the centroid of the components correspond to the centres of these ellipses, and the velocity dispersions of related directions—to semi-axes. Using these diagrams the orbit elements of stars R1, R2 and the value R, characterizing the width of a possible motion zone are determined for stars of the given population (subsystem of the Galaxy). Tables v—ix give the parameter values R1, R2, R2— R1. These parameter values determined here and in paper [I] coincide well. It permits to conclude that the elements characterizing the motions vary slightly with the changing of the expression of potential if these potential parameters are estimated on the base of the same observational data.
