Abstract

This paper gives a survey on solar activity, according to the cyclic law and the latitude distribution law, compiled at the Abastumani astrophysical observatory on the base of the spectrohelioscopic observations during 1940—1951. The cyclic course of mean diurnal floccula area values (fig. 1) for a year shows a strict coincidence, even in details, with the sunspot curve (fig. 2). The very small difference between the transfer coefficients of mentioned values according to the Abastumani and Pulkovo observatories data is an indication of good quality of the material. The cyclic law and the latitude distribution law concerning the prominences and filaments of high-and low latitudes (tables II, III, IV, fig.5, 6) are examined. An analysis makes it reasonable to consider the Abastumani spectrohelioscopic observations as representative, uniform in accuracy and reliable. January, 1955.
