Abstract
During the year 1934 at the temporary platform of the Abastumani Observatory systematic observations were carried on with Michclson actinometer. In all 600 observations were made, of which 332 ante-meridian, 165 post-meridian and 103 at real noon. Table 1 lists the results obtained, the mean values having been computed on the basis of all the data pertaining to the respective altitudes. The turbidity factor was derived with the aid of Linke's formula I(m) = I(0)*P(m)^mT The values obtained tor the turbidity factor of the atmosphere are listed in Table II. As the period of observation was not long enough there is no possibility to draw definite conclusions; nevertheless, the results obtained give a general picture (Fig. 1). Fig. 2 serves for the comparison of our results with the data given for other localities. This comparison shows the relatively great transparency of the atmosphere at Abastumani. March, 1935
