რეზიუმე
The characteristic angles p for spirals of 6 multlarm galaxies (NGC 1039 5247, 4303, 4321, 3938, 3184) were determined. They were found variable along spiral arms in rather large interval -the mean square deviations range from 4° to 20°. The deviations of the mean μ of each arm from a mean μ of the whole galaxy are comparatively small (their values are given in the 7th column of Table 1). The question of application of the normal logarithmic spiral model to the estimation of the number of arms in our Galaxy is considered. On the basis of this model the numbers of spiral arms for galaxies mentioned above were determined and compared with real numbers. It is shown that the normal logarithmic spiral model is undue for such purposes and the number of spiral arms thus obtained is not reliable.
