Abstract

The photoelectric observations of the spectrally binary star AX Mon were carried out in three colours U. B. V by means of a stellar electrophotometer of the Abastumani astrophysical observatory in 1962 1967. These observations made it possible to notice periodic light variations in ultraviolet with an amplitude of about 0.4 mg and the period equal to that of orbital motion (232.5 day). The minimum is observed near the phase 0.75, which proceeds the conjunction moment. According to the spectral data near this phase of orbital motion the lines of ionized metals and hydrogen, characteristic of gaseous streams, appear now and then. The decrease of light in the ultraviolet might be due to the eclipse to the bright component by gaseous streams.
