Abstract
In this work the results of the counts of star, in dark and bright regions of the Milky Way in connection with their spectral classes are given. The attention has been paid to the stars of earlier spectral classes. The counts show that in bright regions the stars of earlier types are more numerous than in the dark regions. This phenomenon accounts for the presence of a dark cloud and in the case of ts absence for the spiral form of the Milky Way. The latter case is similar to extragalactic nebulae Sc, in the aims of which the stars of earlier spectral types have also been discovered. The curves show the dependence of the percentage of stars in bright and dark regions on stellar magnitude. The bifurcation of the curves marks the beginning of a bright or a dark cloud. If, however, the distance of the dark region is determined according to Wolfs (or to some method, and the bifurcation of our curves begins at a shorter distance, it means that the bifurcation is caused by the influence of bright region, i.e. the star - cloud is nearer than the beginning of dark region. In order to carry out a more extensive investigation, the most detailed spectral classification of the Milky Way to the 14-th magnitude is required. May, 1941
