Abstract
The description of the 70-cm meniscus type telescope in operation at the Abaslffmini astrophysical observatory since 1955 is given. The focal length of the primary focus is 2100 mm and ratio 1:3. The field is about 5 in diameter. The secondary optical scheme is realized by means of an additional hyperbolic mirror. The focal length and aperture ratio of this optical system are 10500 mm and 1:15. The field is about 40*. The telescope is attended by a 72-cm objective prism. The effect of an irregular motion of the polar axis has been investigated. Spherical aberration, astigmatism, coma, chromatism, distortion, resolving capacity and penetration of the telescope have been investigated. The dispersion and refractive angle of the objective prism as well as. the purity of spectra and penetration have been determined. The method of determination of radial velocities of stars by means of 70-cm meniscus telescope with an objective prism is described. The ways of determination and reduction of systematic errors are analyzed. The results of determination of the radial velocities of 64 stars near ζ Persei are given. October, 1958.
