Abstract

The necessity to take into account tho effect of tho interstellar absorption when we reduce one photometric system to the other is shown. The reduction formulae (17) or (16) have been derived, which take into account the effect of the interstellar absorption and one of the dependence between the colour excess and the factor γ—transfering selective absorption into the total one on the CE itself. Some particular cases are investigated. To determine the magnitudes—as standards — for the stars situated in regions considerably obscured with interstellar absorption is recommended. September, 1958.
