Abstract
Certain particularities of the proper motions of stars in the vicinity of the Sun, i.e. the North-South asymmetry in the proper motions and the presence of third harmonics in the series expression for mean proper motions in terms of the galactic longitude,-are explained by the Local system expansion hypothesis. Formulae representing the expansion differential field of the system are obtained by the method elaborated by K.Ph. Ogorodnikov. These formulae are applied to the material from the paper by R.B. Shatzova [1]. It is found that if the Local system expansion is supposed,-the observed regularities in the motions of the GC stars are simply explained. December, 1952
