Abstract
The data gained during long term field works and results of extensive biometrical investigations on the genus Dactylorhiza in Georgia are presented in this paper. It is confirmed that Dactylorhiza amblyoloba represents independent species. Occurrence of D. armeniaca is proved for Georgia for the first time. New subspecies was described for D. incarnata group - subsp. jugicrucis. The detailed history of taxonomic investigations of these three taxa is presented. In total, the existence of 8 Dactylorhiza-taxa is confirmed for Georgia. Besides D. armeniaca and D. umbrosa, the following six species have terratypica in Georgia: D. amblyoloba, D. euxina, D. iberica, D. incarnata subsp. jugicrucis, D. romana subsp. georgica and D. urvilleana. All synonyms are presented for studied species, type material and distribution in Georgia is evaluated, habitat, community type and threats are described. Old data on existence of D. osmanica and D. salina in Georgia was not confirmed. It is doubtful because of distribution area and ecological conditions. Earlier wrong statement on occurrence of D. sambucina should be refuted. Finally, updated complete species list of Georgian orchid-taxa is presented with indication of minimum and maximum altitudes of their vertical distribution.
