Abstract
The question about the laws of the absorbing matter density distribution perpendicularly to the galactic plane is discussed. For the solution of the problem the equation by Smolukhovsky with some simplification is used. It is stated that the interstellar absorption observations are well represented by the formula (19). December, 1957
