Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to answer several questions regarding cross-linguistic matches and to reveal morphosyntactic similarities (if any) via a study of dative shift in relation to the active-passive constructions in L1 and L2. This paper is structured as follows: Section 1 includes background and research questions; Section 2 presents a methodological approach and briefly summarizes its theoretical prerequisites; Section 3 includes the findings and hypothesis, which refer to a morphosyntactic correlative description of idioms in L1 and L2; and Section 4 presents the answers to the research questions and conclusions.
