Abstract

. Georgia is located in the central Caucasus, which represents a Phanerozoic collisional orogen formed along the Eurasian North continental margin and stretched on 1200 km, from the Caspian to Black sea. Three major units are distinguished in the Caucasus: the Greater and Lesser Caucasian mobile belts and Transcaucasian microplate. The territory of Georgia comprises all three units and with unique geoheritages and favorable climate is an excellent destination for the aspiring Geoparks and development of Geotourism
