Abstract
Abstract Nazarlebi is a conspicuous site on the southern fringe of the Shiraki plain in Kachetia, Eastern Georgia. Earlier archaeological investigations in the 1990s and 2000s provided hints at its datation in the Late Bronze and Early Iron Age (ca 13th to 9th century BC). In 2017 a joint project between Ilia State University Tbilisi and Martin-Luther- Universität Halle-Wittenberg was begun. After two campaigns‘ work the character of the site emerges to be that of a sanctuary comparable to contemporaneous Shilda in the Alazani valley, Georgia.
