Abstract
The fourth campaign at the Nazarlebi site in Kachetia, Eastern Georgia, in 2021, was devoted to the further clearance of the circular sanctuary structure detected in 2018 and excavated in 2019. We removed the four baulks and succeeded in clearing the area covered by the trigonometric point. In that location, another section of the circular wall and a rectangular construction appeared which divide the formerly presumed large entrance to the building into two smaller ones. In the sanctuary and directly beside it we conducted two small-scale soundings in order to better understand the history of the site. In both cases, ceramics ceased only after about one metre below the respective surfaces (see postscript for carbon-14 dates). Shallow test trenches were opened in the west of the sanctuary in order to connect it with the edge of the plateau (PS 8), as well as between plateau trench 1 (PS 1) from 2018 and the areas on the north lower terrace from 2019 (UTN 3) (PS 6). We initiated another small-scale sounding in the northern half of UTN 2.
