Abstract

The results of a detailed U,B,V surface photometr of NGC 3593 and 3523 are given. On the basis of the photometry, using the spectral and radio observations available, the following conclusions are drawn. NGC 3593 - has an active nucleus and an additional non-thermal radiation in the central region. The galaxy is surrounded by a blue amorphous halo and it has a lot of characteristics similar to the Seyfert Galaxy NGC 4151. NGC 3623 - is not characterized with reddening towards the central region, as it is the case with normal galaxies. The circumstance mentioned, together with other characterization, indicates that some non-intense active processes are occuring in NGC 3623.
